Vivid Announces Membership in 1% For The Planet
Tokyo, Japan, 2020 February 2—Mother Nature is taking more of our neglect than she can withstand, and she weeps silently. Acknowledging that humanity is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the environment, we must remain ever vigilant of reflecting environmental consciousness in our actions.
By pooling efforts and resources with others like-minded we can make out-sized, intelligent contributions to environmental aims and to a humanity that flourishes with it. On our path toward realizing these shared aspirations, today Vivid Inc. became a member of 1% for the Planet.
In effect, we pledge to donate at least 1% of annual sales to support nonprofit organizations focused on the environment. We also intend for our membership to act as a forcing function that holds us to account, making contributions a matter of public record.
Our membership in 1% for the Planet meshes well with other aspects of our long-standing environmental attitude:
- Be mindful of the environmental footprint of our every action, seeking to reduce harm to within levels that the environment can absorb.
- Prefer suppliers that demonstrate commitment to environmentally conscious behavior, such as through certification and supply chain traceability.
- Environmental activism, such as spreading awareness of the fact that every one of us is easily able to make a difference with small behavioral changes that lead to big environmental wins.
We invite you to join us in the movement to restoring Mother Nature back to full health and building a sustainable future. Lacking her own direct voice, she needs our protection, our enlightened custodianship.
